While young toddlers discover their big feelings, Discovery Place has toddler teachers who solely focus on their developmental growth.
Toddlers have a great need to be seen, heard, and understood. Discovery Place provides a flexible but guided daily routine schedule to provide our toddlers with a sense of consistency. They discover their friends, and their teachers are an extension of their home life, this is why the classroom environment is so important in providing exploration, relaxation, and a feeling of home life. Every toddler is independent and learns at their own pace, so our toddler teachers will provide them with personalized learning activities.
Older Toddlers - 2 Years Old
Discovery's older toddler teachers work on our toddlers reaching their individual developmental milestones.
Developmental milestones are skills that most children can do by a certain age. Children reach milestones in how they play, learn, speak, behave, and move (like crawling, walking, or jumping). Our older toddlers are very expressive little people who are encouraged to express their emotions, speak in phrases, develop sentences, and follow simple instructions and directions. They also learn to enjoy simple games, colors, shapes, songs, movements, and to explore the learning materials in their classroom. They gain a sense of themselves, the people around them and how to play and socialize with their friends. We encourage our older toddlers to be social and independent.
