Helping Every Child Learn and Grow

Discovery Place Preschools provide children experiencing developmental delays and disabilities with the opportunity to learn in a high-quality early learning environment.

We understand that all children grow and develop in unique ways; therefore, we collaborate with our parents, teachers, and service organizations to create an individualized developmental plan to work with each of our children. Our program works with many early intervention service organizations to coordinate services for our children. Discovery Place Preschools provide our children with a warm, supportive, nurturing learning environment that lets our children and parents know that we are working together to obtain the support and resources our children need to be successful.

Here For Your Child's Development

Research shows early intervention support increases major long-term positive effects on symptoms and later skills. Support and services are designed to meet the developmental needs of children with a disability, in one or more of the following areas:
  • Physical development, including vision and hearing
  • Cognitive development
  • Communication development
  • Social or emotional development
  • Adaptive development

Although early intervention is a very specialized and well-trained profession, please remember that Discovery Place Preschools' staff are not special needs professionals. Our staff will support parents in their efforts to obtain supportive services for their child after we have observed, assessed, and met with the parents. We only recommend services; we cannot diagnose a child. However, evidence-based support can be used to teach young children with special needs the skills they can use in their daily interactions with their families, friends, and teachers. To assist them in their success, we expect our parents to collaborate with us to provide the child with the best possible care. Our parents understand the importance of advocating for their child.
